Halloween

This year, Enzo helped to carve the pumpkin. Have you ever tried to find a pumpkin on Halloween in a grocery store? Tough.

He was curious about the pumpkin guts, but didn't like them so much. I was just excited about the roasted and salted pumpkin seeds.

The first look in the mirror at the lovely Luna lion.

What a cutie. This doesn't look like an intimidating king of the jungle...

We went to downtown Brea for a trick or treat extravaganza. It was actually a KidzBlockParty. Nothing says Halloween like a petting zoo staffed by carnies.

Pud'n pie

I had Enzo help me out in the kitchen making dinner tonight. It was tacos, beans and rice and chocolate fudge pudding pie for dessert. Here, he takes his first crack at a wire whisk. Like a pro.

And, the payoff.

Doesn't he look chocolate drunk?

The after-dinner tickle match.

Date Night - U2 and Black Eyed Peas

Jeff and I treated ourselves to a concert at the Rose Bowl. And, to a delightful tailgate of The Hat pastrami sammies, red vines, and diet Sprite in the parking lot.
No idea how this "dress" stayed put. I think I saw cheek. Oh, Fergie Ferg.

One of the highlights was Slash from Guns N Roses dueting with Fergie on Sweet Child O Mine.

U2. Nothing more to say. Only that we left early to relieve Nana of childcare duties since she totally hooked us up on a work night!! Thank you!

You're a great pumpkin, Charlie Brown

We headed to the pumpkin patch, and the experience was a whole lot different than last year. No flannel costume for Enzo in the 85 degree heat (the kid wears shorts and sandles now), no 4-wheel drive for the stroller (Enzo walked right in), no adorable shot for the blog (he decided to throw a fit instead.)

Enzo did, however, manage to ride on the train and eat a snow cone (which they tried to pass off as shave ice - imposters!!)

We suggested he carry a pumpkin since he recently began picking up everything he can get his hands on to carry it from point A to point B. No go. He instead wanted to play soccer with the mini-mes.

And after all this fun, I say to Jeff on the way home in the car, "We forgot to buy a pumpkin."

Kayden goes home

Enzo wasn't thrilled about his first meeting with Kayden. Kayden was calm and collected.

Once Jeff started holding him, Enzo became a bit jealous after cautiously observing for a bit. Looks like we'll have to start practicing this baby thing with the big brother to be.

Enzo's new cousin, Baby Kayden

It's not the greatest shot, but believe me, this is one cute baby. And I'm not just saying that because he's my first nephew. Kayden Dale was born at 6:18 pm, weighed in at 8 lbs. 7 oz. and was 19 3/4 in. long.

My sister Claire was induced because allegedly he weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. via ultrasound more than a week and a half ago. After 11 hours of labor, Kayden became strangled by the umbilical cord and required immediate evacuation via cesarian. Healthy baby. Healthy mommy. Proud daddy.

We had the chance to hang out with Tim and Claire the day before she delivered. Tim even cooked us all ribs on the BBQ. Delish!

Here, Enzo introduced himself to his cousin. In utero. After his Uncle Tim adorned him with wall stickers from the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star nursery.

And then he took some time to visit the horses out back.

Bun in the oven, again

Because I couldn't think of any more creative way of telling our blog fans that we're expecting - our Halloween costume from two years ago will have to suffice. And, as if the last blog post didn't spell it out for you, JEFF AND I ARE EXPECTING ANOTHER BABY!!!!

You might have noticed I've been MIA on the blogosphere lately, and that's cause I've been puking my guts out. TMI, maybe. But for way too many months, I have suffered in silence. So now, everyone gets to hear it. And hopefully, feel sorry for me. And bring me presents.

But truthfully, despite surviving the toughest 13 weeks of my life to date, we are honestly very excited about growing our family. Although it came a little sooner than any of us expected, we are happy and very blessed. And come April 4th, we will be Luna, Party of Four!!

Lots of other exciting things have happened over the past few months, so take a minute to look back, now that I've posted some entries. Ga head -- look back. I'll wait. It's good stuff.

Haircut #2

Haircut #2 didn't go the way I thought... he screamed and cried. But here is the result. Only a Kids Cut stylist could have made him look this good.
