He walks!!
Notice Jeff's ready-position in the background. He keeps insisting we should put a helmet and pads on Enzo. At all times. Seriously.
Milestones are important and all, but I've tried not to be so caught up in content of the first weekly, then monthly Babycenter.com emails about where my kid should be developmentally. BUT... when I got the last email that said that "by now your child is walking everywhere, running, and jumping -- unless yours is of the 7% not yet walking" I blew a gasket. What?!?! Bottom 7%?? I was semi-okay last month when he was in the bottom 25%, but hey, I don't want to carry my child into 1st grade because he hasn't taken his first steps yet. Sheese.
The very next day... he took his first steps. See, there's nothing to get worked up for. Milestone, schmilestone. I think this boy's just lazy. And precious, too.

Exhibit A
Picture it. We're eating dinner at the kitchen table. Food is being thrown all over the place. Per usual. Jeff scoots the highchair back a bit to bend over and mop up. I'm still eating. Per usual. Jeff gets up to dispose of food scraps. BAM!! Enzo's forehead impaled against the corner of the kitchen island. I jump up. Enzo starts screaming. All I see is a purple dent. Yes, DENT! I get him out of the highchair and started yelling for Jeff. Or at Jeff. Or panicking. Not sure. Don't remember. I take a moment to compose myself and Enzo calms down a bit. After about two minutes, there appears a bump. And then a bigger bump. I try to tell myself what every mom of a little boy has told me. Boys will bump their heads.
As I settled down, and so did Enzo, Jeff then began to convince me of skull fractures, brain swelling, delayed mental ability, etc. etc. So I called the after-hours nurse's line.
Fast forward one-hour and we find ourselves in the ER.
The doc advised us against a CT scan. He was alert. He was active. He was moving normally. And doc didn't want to infuse him with all the radiation that comes with a scan. He told us to save those up for the times when we're really gonna need em. Awesome. He said that as a father of twin boys, boys are going to bump their heads.
Returning to the scene of the crime.
Did I mention that the next morning he fell off my bed? Bumped head. Scratched nose. Gouged eyes. This, after a week of ear infections and bronchitis. Rough and tumble.
