My Aunt Sophie DeCorpo passed away this past February, after a long illness and a stroke. Since some members of the Cleveland family were already planning to come to Cali for Easter, we carried out our plans to pay tribute to this matriarch of our family. Without really any expectations other than each of us sharing stories and memories in Seal Beach at sunset, it turned out to be a wonderful and meaningful celebration of her life.
After each of us shared stories about our lives with Aunt Sophie, my cousin Greg paddled out on his surfboard and scattered the flowers in the surf. It was great to see everyone.
