Family fun night #2

Papa hosted this month's family fun night. With help from Auntie Godmother Josie, he prepared a lovely lasagne dinner.

Auntie Godmother, who has missed caring for Enzo during my days at work, had a chance to play with him and see his maraca-shaking skillz as he sang to Cat in the Hat.

Great Auntie Jo brought him a very special Peter Cottontail book -- complete with chewproof cardboard pages.

Brooke the Nanny

Today, Brooke started taking care of Enzo. I realized how far I'd come in six months. I remember how guilty, fearful, anxious, jumpy and nervous I felt when Nancy started caring for Enzo back in September, when I returned to work after maternity leave. She was great, but opportunities in her life took her in a new direction. We all miss her, but have been good at keeping in touch.

In the meantime, Josie has been faithfully loving and caring for E twice a week -- and she's loved every minute of it. So has Enzo.

This morning, as Brooke arrived at 6:10 am, I felt a little uneasy, but not nearly as panicked as when I left him those six months ago. She has spent a few half-days with us together and Enzo seems to like her. (Although, he really likes everyone. He's such the social butterfly!) She texted me pics and videos and had a very good day with him.

She's the new addition to our family.

Bubbles everywhere, everywhere

A little ditty from Gymboree (to the tune of If You're Happy and You Know It:)

There are bubbles in the air, in the air.

There are bubbles in the air, in the air.

There are bubbles in the air, there are bubbles in your hair,

There are bubbles in the air, in the air.

Enzo got bubbles upon awaking from his 2 hour nap!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

"A certain young fellow named Bee Bee
Wished to wed a woman named Phoebe.
'But,' he said, 'I must see
What the clerical fee be
Before Phoebe be Phoebe Bee Bee.'"

I'm baby Enzo and I'm 10 months old!

In case you can't tell, he's standing. Yes. Standing.

Off to Seattle

Enzo was temporarily without a mom for my second overnight business trip since he's been on the outside. I headed to Seattle for an event, some meetings, and a snowstorm. Got to see some family, too.

Although Enzo's been talking for a while (unwords to the untrained ear), we really haven't thought that he knows what he's saying. Apparently last night as he kept waking up in the night -- VERY unusual -- he kept crying "mamamamama." Hey, maybe he does know what he's saying. The kiddo missed his mama.

Loves the strap

No matter what the toy, blanket, carseat, etc... Enzo always finds 1.) the strap or 2.) the tag.
