Gupdate

Today Guppy had another ultrasound. Last week our doctor was not able to determine Guppy's positioning so we were sent to get a visual. Strategic positioning has been obtained and we are ready for launch. 2 weeks and 3 days to go.

Bun in the oven shower

Our wonderful friends have showered us with best wishes, support, laughs, and gifts for our upcoming newborn. Thanks to Amy and Maile for making today special. I noticed that the 60 inch plasmas had our Halloween 'bun in the oven' pic- that is how we broke the news to all of our friends last October. Today, with the help of our friends, we are getting ready for the big day when Gup arrives. Just a few years ago, I would not have imagined a room with so many friends, parents, and soon to be parents in our support network.
We headed to Truxton's in Westchester for dinner and capped off the night at Kate and Geoff's house. We are very lucky to have friends with great insight into parenting. The stamina award goes to AJ, lasting almost 11 hours without a break. Seeing her friends gave her a huge boost of energy. BTW- We really had Cinnabon gooey goodness cinnamon buns.

Gup Nursery (Guppy Habitat)

So my brilliantly talented Sis-in-law has created the ultimate Guppy habitat. She is already spoiling her nephew.

Good Murphy

This is our first doghter Murphy. When she first came to us as a puppy in December of 2006 from Sis and Brother-in-law, we took turns staying up with her for the first two weeks. I am not sure if that was a good representation of what Dadhood might be, but Puppy Murphy showed me what sleep deprivation could be like. Lately, we have been awoken to her barking in the middle of the night-maybe that is Murph's way of getting us ready for Baby Guppy.

Murphy is McLovin some ice cubes on a hot Saturday afternoon with her Kong toy nearby. Murphy is almost 18 months old and weighing in at 103 lbs. Hopefully she will accommodate Guppy when he is older into her busy schedule -somewhere between chasing her Kong toy, laying in her doggie pool, and napping. Murphy is a big reminder of her namesake's Law. Thankfully we get along.

Waiting for Gup... T-minus one month and one day

We took some great video of Guppy in utero that will be going up online soon. Today I will be getting his room ready with adjustments to his changing table and maybe hang shelves so we can have a Gup-surveillance system (video baby monitor --thank you Aunt Terry) up and running later today.

Version 2.0

We are having a baby boy. We decided to know what sex was coming to us- since we have the technology. We have been calling him Gup...short for Guppy. Guppy will have a code revision with fewer bugs, artificial intelligence (learn from example), and better code error correction. A final security audit will be performed prior to the release date of May 13, 2008.
